Naturally this letter will come to you as a surprise since we do not know
each other, please permit me however to introduce myself. I am Fisher
Brown, a staff of the Ministry of Finance and Economic planning here in
Ghana. At the risk of boasting, I wish you to understand that I am a top

committee. Subsequent upon the recent debt relief granted by the G8
Nations to the Republic of Ghana, the Government under the leadership of
his Excellency, President John A. Kufour, has decided to pay off all the
accumulated back-log of contract debts owed to both local and foreign
contractors.
However, some of these contract debts span from the regime of his
excellency, Osagyefo Dr. Kwame Nkrumah down to the PNDC government of Flt.
Lt. John J. Rawlings and to his NDC government days even to the first
tenure of President Kufour. To this effect, some of the contractors can no
longer be traced as they have tried severally to receive their payment
success. Obviously, some may have died.
The proposal:
I wish to implore you to come in as our partner to claim the sum of $145
Million United States Dollars which is payment due some contractors who
built the Akosombo Hydro-electric dam. The contract was divided in 3
phases. The civil contractors, the water engineers and the electrical
engineering companies. I understand that you may not know anything about
this subject and you may not even be conversant with the procedure for
building a dam. But do not worry as we have covered all the bases.
All we need to do is apply for an initial payment of $75 Million United
States Dollars for the first phase of the contract. As soon as this is
successfully transferred to your account, we will apply for the other
balance. You do not need to worry about the original contractors. This has
already been taken care of. We removed some of the files when we took them
for review. All we have to do is replace them with your company details.
As soon as this is done, we shall approve your file for immediate payment.

publicação de textos, a GUEMANISSE EDITORA E EVENTOS
LTDA. promove o 2º CONCURSO LITERÁRIO GUEMANISSE
DE MINICONTOS E HAICAIS, composto por duas categorias
distintas:
a) Minicontos;
b) Haicais,
o qual será regido pelo seguinte
REGULAMENTO
1. Podem concorrer quaisquer pessoas, desde que os textos
inscritos sejam em língua portuguesa. Os trabalhos não precisam
ser inéditos e a temática é livre.
2. As inscrições se encerram no dia 12 de junho de 2007. Os
trabalhos enviados após esta data não serão considerados para
efeito do concurso, e, assim como os demais, não serão
devolvidos. Para tanto será considerada a data de postagem
(correio e internet).
3. O limites de cada MINICONTO é de até 2 (duas) páginas. Os
HAICAIS se prendem à sua forma tradicional.
4. Os textos devem ser em folha A4, corpo 12, espaço 1,5 e
fonte Times ou Arial.
5. As inscrições podem ser realizadas por correio ou pela internet
da forma seguinte:
a) Via postal (correio): os trabalhos podem ser enviados em

10. Os resultados serão divulgados pelo nosso site

11. Cada Comissão Julgadora será composta por 3 (três) nomes
ligados à literatura e com reconhecida capacidade
artístico-cultural. Ambas as Comissões podem conceder

12. As decisões das Comissões Julgadoras são irrecorríveis.
13. Para cada Categoria (Minicontos e Haicais), a premiação
será nos seguintes valores.
1º lugar: R$ 1.200,00 (mil e duzentos reais) e publicação do
texto em livro;
2º lugar: R$ 800,00 (oitocentos reais) e publicação do texto em
livro;
3º lugar: R$ 400,00 (quatrocentos reais) e publicação do texto
em livro;
Os textos premiados, inclusive os que forem agraciados com
menção honrosa ou especial, serão publicados em livro (sem
ônus para seus autores) e cada um destes autores receberá dez
exemplares, em troca do que cedem os direitos autorais apenas
para esta edição específica que não poderá ultrapassar a
tiragem de 2.000 exemplares. Os exemplares restantes desta
